About the event
G-402 Training. The purpose of this course is to familiarize Senior Officials with their role in supporting incident management within the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
GOAL: The purpose of this course is to familiarize Senior Officials (executives, elected and appointed officials, city/county managers, agency administrators, etc.) with their role in supporting incident management within the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
· Overview of the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
· Describe the NIMS Management Characteristics, the organizational structure of the Incident Command System (ICS), and the role of the Command and General Staff.
· Review the attributes and purpose of Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs).
· Explain the interconnectivity between the Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) Group, EOCs, the Joint Information System (JIS) and Incident Command (IC).
· Define the Senior Official’s role in preparedness.
