Osceola County Fieldtrip
The Regional Greenways and Trails Working Group enjoyed a day of Osceola County Trails on Friday, May 8, hosted by Osceola County, the Cities of Kissimmee and St. Cloud, and the Osceola County School Board. The tour showcased projects that were made possible through partnerships between agencies, the cities, the county and the school board. The group learned about projects that are coming down the pipeline, those that are in the process of completion as well as completed projects. As we traveled through the county in vans and canoes, we were able to learn how Osceola County is working to maintain its heritage and natural resources and the urban areas continue to develop, and of course, make those resources available for the residents and visitors to enjoy. Sites visited on the trip include the site of the Future John Young Parkway Pedestrian overpass, Babb Landing at Shingle Creek, canoeing down Shingle Creek from Steffi Landing , the CIty of Kissimmee's Lakefront Park, Rail Stop and downtown, Lakeside School, C-31 Canal, St. Cloud Lakefront Park, Partin Triangle Park/Doggie Park, Neptune Middle School and Hickory Tree School.
